About
Cucumbers
There are many different varieties of cucumbers but for the most part they can be broken up into two categories–slicing cucumbers and pickling cucumbers. At Tumbleweed Farm we grow traditional slicers, lemon cucumbers (which don’t taste like lemons but are round with a yellow flesh), Persian cucumbers and pickling cucumbers. In the heat of the summer we turn to cucumbers for snacking out in the fields because they are extremely refreshing (they’re made up of 90 percent water!). We also love making chilled soups, smoothies, juices and cocktails with this seasonal gem.
Whether you’re pickling, snacking or whipping up a tasty meal cucumbers are a great addition to any summer meal!
