Spinach & Almond Smoothie
Spinach season isn't going to be around for much longer and we are trying our best to eat it at least three times a day. If we start turning green you'll know why! Honestly though, Tumbleweed Farm grows some pretty amazing spinach and simple salads and smoothies have never tasted so damn good. I can't get enough!
I tend to get carried away with my morning smoothies by adding all kinds of extra things like oats, chia seeds, flax oil, maca powder and cocoa. Don't get me wrong, I love those smoothies too, however, this green drink is so gosh darn simple and delicious that it's reminded me to simplify my morning shakes.

Spinach & Almond Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 large frozen banana
- 1 1/2 cups fresh spinach
- 2-3 large medjool dates, pitted and chopped (if you don't have a high speed blender I would recommend soaking the dates for 30 minutes prior or subbing pure maple syrup)
- 2 Tablespoon almond butter
- 1 1/2 cups homemade almond milk (store-bought is fine too)
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Preparation
- Place all of the ingredients into a high speed blender and whirl away until smooth.
