Dishing Up the Dirt

Spiced Gingerbread Shakes

I know I know I know….Christmas was over two weeks ago and most of you have moved on. So why the heck am I whipping up gingerbread recipes? Well folks I have a mildly embarrassing confession. We still have our Christmas tree up. Yep, we are “those” people this year.  We haven’t been on top of house chores and unfortunately it’s the 9th of January and our house looks like it is still expecting a visit from Santa.

I wasn’t going to post this recipe since it’s too late for holiday treats but these were so stinking good that I didn’t want to keep the recipe all to myself. We’ve been drinking these like they are going out of style and I think they taste even better in January then they would have in December! It is the dead of winter after all, and most of you guys are snowed in. It’s times like this when comforting flavors are the best. We enjoyed these shakes on a chilly but beautiful evening here at Tumbleweed Farm.

Gingerbread spiced shakes and a fire roaring in the wood stove with this view is pretty much my heaven.

You have my permission to enjoy gingerbread flavors all winter long! These shakes taste awesome as a dessert but are equally delicious as a morning smoothie. Cheers!
