This is going to be a big test. I will be baking my little heart out all day until my friends start trickling into town starting tonight. I win my friends over by feeding them. I am hoping to bake cookies, muffins, and maybe some biscuits. Biscuits because of this article in the Oregonian today:
I do love biscuits. But I have never attempted making them. This could be a stretch so I am not making any promises. But the cookies are definitely on the way. And the best way to get in the mood for a day of baking is by eating some homemade banana bread my mom just made.
Banana bread and coffee. I am all fueled up and ready to get baking. Any cookie recipe suggestions? Remember nothing too tricky. I am a beginner!
Here is the best new cookie recipe, lemon sugar cookies from Bon Appetit. I followed the recipe except for when you roll the dough in the sugar, don’t roll the whole ball, just dab a little on top. Have fun!

If you like gingerbread cookies this is the greatest recipe. They are always a great hit at Christmas time but any time of year will do.
Recipe courtesy of Martha Stewart……(I always add the baking soda with the dry ingrediants)
