This morning was an early wake up call. I had a quick breakfast before heading up to the farm. This would be my new obsession:
Now, I have always loved almond butter. However, Justin’s Maple Almond Butter takes things to a whole new level. I spread some of this on top of Nashoba Brook Bakery’s Harvest bread. It is a little local bakery and they make the best bread. Combined with coffee and blueberries for a delicious and nutritious breakfast.
The farm was pretty busy today. We harvested the whole time. Starting off with Swiss Chard and eight hours later ending with those darn beans! I love my beans, but I sure is heck have trouble filling my buckets fast enough. By the time we got to the beans my back and hamstrings were pretty numb so pain wasn’t a problem, I just didn’t feel like bending over anymore. On top of that, the rows of beans seemed to never end. Every time I thought I had made a lot of progress, I would stand up straight for a moment to take a look towards the end of the row, and it still seemed to be a million miles away. Beans…..I just can’t seem to catch a break. I wish you weren’t so tasty because then I truly could hate you. However, hard work at the farm really does pay off. Lunch was this tasty creation:
This would be a whole wheat pita smothered with Hummus (from Ragab) tomatoes, basil, peas, olive oil and balsamic drizzle. With a side of cherry tomatoes and a zucchini. Food like this puts a smile on my face.
Off to stuff some peppers for dinner. I will let you know how they turn out. If they are good, I well post the recipe!!!
Hi Andrea,
I’m here from Carrie’s blog, and so happy to find your blog here. Your life sounds like a wonderful adventure. Really, you live in Emerson’s house? That alone is worth pages and pages of great stories. I look forward to getting to know you better.

We ate stuffed heirloom tomatoes last night. Kait, my new little sister (not that you can be replaced!) made them with sauteed zucchini, squash & kale…seasoned to perfection and baked till they were falling apart-perfect.
Can’t wait to come visit so you can cook for me!
My Monkey loves Almond Butter & I’ll surprise her for breakfast, with Maple Almond Butter.
