blackberry cacao super smoothie
I have a confession. I drank my first pumpkin beer of the season (gasp!) Yes, I lied to you. After all of my preaching about how I was not going to eat or drink anything pumpkin until we were harvesting it at our farm I went and had a pumpkin beer on you. And guess what? I don’t regret it! It tasted just as good as I remember. Even if I drank it a little prematurely.
The good news is that I am still staying strong and only cooking summertime fare on the blog until it is officially fall.
Besides, we still have hundreds of pounds of tomatoes and summer squash going strong at the farm. I’m hoping our first frost doesn’t come too soon. I’m still enjoying our farm candy!
Speaking of candy, let’s chat about this amazing smoothie. I was taking Henry for a run the other day and we stumbled upon a lot of blackberry bushes. After snacking on a few we ran home and decided to grab a few empty tomato pints and head back to our secret spot. We came home and froze the blackberries and have been enjoying this smoothie ever since. I am a sucker for chocolate covered blackberries and this smoothie tasted just as indulgent.
The combination of sweet blackberries and raw cacao is a match made in heaven. You could even enjoy this as an after dinner dessert. Either way, grab a straw and slurp up this delicious and healthy smoothie.

I also recently had my first pumpkin beer of the season… and while I am not QUITE ready for fall to be here in full swing, I don’t regret that delicious ale one bit 😉

These look beautiful and healthily indulgent- my kind of smoothie! Now where can I find a blackberry bush? Thinking of planting my own here in Denver once I get a yard so it can grow wild and provide me with sweet berries : )
