chocolate almond butter smoothie

chocolate almond butter smoothie

I just found my drug of choice. I can't fully explain the amount of energy (and natural high) I had after consuming this breakfast smoothie. But to give you an idea I got more accomplished in the 5 hours between consuming this smoothie and a lunch break. I'm already dreaming about making this exact smoothie again tomorrow. Taylor is on board too. He was running around getting things done left and right after slurping his down. You may notice I am still "eating" my smoothies while Taylor still enjoys drinking his with a straw. To each their own I guess. I apologize in advance because I went a little wild with the ingredients (a recent trip to the natural food store is to blame!) I am in love with the owners of our neighborhood health food store Mothers and after chatting about smoothies with them I ended up with a basket full of superfood add ins!  Feel free to leave out anything you don't have.  Honestly, this smoothie would taste great if it only had banana, spinach, cocoa, almond butter and milk of choice.  However, now that we have a pantry stocked full of "superfoods" I felt the need to go crazy. Feel free to go wild or keep it simple. If you have a favorite go-to morning smoothie leave your recipe in the comments. Or tell us your favorite "secret" ingredient in your morning shakes. I am trying to convince my dad to drink more smoothies and need as much help as I can get!!! Anyhow, we have a hot date with a bunch of chicken farmers tonight and I'm thinking we may need to whip up another smoothie to give us the energy we need to get through the evening. Wish us luck. I think we will be out past our bedtime. Yikes!
