It is with absolute joy that I finally get to share with you the official cover of my upcoming cookbook “Let Them Eat Dirt.” A book dedicated to childhood nutrition, family traditions, and finding joy at the dinner table with your whole family. This book has been a true labor of love and after a year and a half of research, recipe testing, and a lot of dishes, I am in the final stretch of getting this book out into the world. It is being published by Page Street Publishing and is slated to be on bookstore shelves across the country in early July, 2023.

This book was a complete “accident” as I swore to myself I’d never write another cookbook again after my last two– Dishing up the Dirt was published in 2017 & Local Dirt was published in 2020 (both by Harper Collins). I am so proud of those books but damn!! Writing a book is SO much work and working with publishers is wonderful but also exhausting. However, I could’t ignore the itch I had to create this book. As a new mom, navigating my way through trying to feed my baby nourishing food with so much conflicting advice out there, I knew I needed to pave my own way. The result of my parenting journey thus far is this book.

This book reflects the research I’ve done on childhood nutrition, psychology around food and picking eating and the values I care most about when it comes to feeding my family. This is honestly the book I wish existed when I first started feeding Pepper solid foods and I’m really thrilled to be able to share it with all of you out there cooking and feeding little ones. And if your kids are older not to worry, the recipes in this book are created with the whole family in mind! I actually think the recipes in this book might be my favorite out of all of my cookbooks (it just took a toddler to get my very creative juices flowing!) I know the book is a ways out, but I wanted to share the news with you all as it’s available now for preorder on Amazon and my local bookstore. In fact, my local bookstore– Waucoma is handling all signed copies of the cookbook and they ship worldwide so you can pre-order a signed one now and they will ship to you wherever you live! Preorders are important as it helps with algorithms when searching for the book and helps the publisher gauge how many copies will initially go to print.

As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your support over the years. Moving forward, I am working on a separate website dedicated to all things baby and toddler so those of you who don’t wish for this kind of content don’t need to worry that this website is turning into a toddler website! The other website is a ways out but it’s in the works.

Until then, I’ll be back with another recipe soon!

Thank you again everyone for sticking with me through all of these years! This blog is over a decade old! I cannot believe it!
