More snow, deer fence construction, food photo shoots in the living room and late night photo edits. As it turns out, these four things are turning into our new normal this winter! I’d be lying if I said I didn’t feel a little guilty about leaving all the winter farm chores up to Taylor this year, but he assures me it’s all good. He’s honestly just stoked to eat all the leftovers from the day’s shoot!
A few weeks ago we placed a huge seed order for our 2016 season. UPS arrived with the goods and it felt like Christmas all over again. I seriously love unpacking our seeds and ultimately find myself fantasizing about the fresh meals that lie ahead. We’ve been reorganizing our seeding schedule for this season and it’s crazy to think that next month we’ll begin our spring starts in the greenhouse. Time seems to be passing at a tremendous speed this winter and I’m not sure if I’m excited our nervous about that.
Anyhow, this weekend will be a busy one around the farm with some indoor/outdoor chores. Regardless of the work, we’ll do our best to slow down, clink glasses and enjoy a few meals together. I hope wherever this weekend finds you that you are able to do the same. It’s easy to get get lost in the chaos but good food, a few drinks and lovely company can do wonders for the soul. Love to hear of the goings on at Tumbleweed, but I cannot get over Henry and how wonderful he looks. Remember how scrawny and anxious he was when you adopted him. Just look at him now. I have a nice Hutchins squash that I think I will stuff with your lentils and carrots this weekend.
