With another week behind us here at Tumbleweed Farm we can safely say we survived the past seven days. It isn’t officially summer yet, but the weather forecast sure has us feeling like it’s the middle of July. It’s HOT out here! We’re spending more time moving irrigation lines around than we are anything else at the moment. The plants are thirsty and the newly germinated seeds need a lot of attention in this heat. With that being said, things are cranking out in the fields (including all of the weeds!) and the farm is overflowing with bounty.

This past week we took a late afternoon road trip to Portland and had a great meeting with the amazing owners of Migration Brewery. We set up all of the details for one of our CSA drop offs (we drop off at two locations- Barre3 and the brew pub) which all start this Tuesday.  We are stoked to have partnered up with two rad companies and can’t wait for our members to pick up their vegetable shares at such a wonderful spot. Micro brews and veggies go together pretty darn well!

Aside from gearing up for our CSA to kick off for the season, we are busy harvesting for the local farmers market and all of our restaurant accounts. Every week we are introducing more vegetables and our booth is looking more plentiful by the day. It’s great having our loyal customers show up to support us and purchase veggies to feed their families for the week. You guys know who you are and you totally rule!

It’s going to be another busy weekend here at the farm but we are feeling positive and energized. Hard work and a few tasty meals are in our forecast. With that being said, I hope you all get to enjoy the next few days to relax and share a good meal surrounded be people you’re happy to be with. Cheers from Tumbleweed Farm.

Those radishes are so beautiful. What I’m’ seeing here at my local co-op (in the midwest) are a sorry lot in comparison. Our farmer’s markets don’t get going until mid-June. Garlic scapes!!!

You guys are awesome! Love seeing what goes on the behind the scenes. So inspiring. We still need to meet up! Next time I’m in Hood, or next time you’re in Portland, let’s do it!

Dana! You are too sweet. We are WAY past due to clink glasses. We’re in PDX every Tuesday at Migration Brewery from 4-6. You guys should swing in for a beer. Otherwise come out to the farm!! You can snatch of some veggies, drink wine and we’ll give you a little tour. xo

    Hi Andrea,
You had mention in one of your daily blogs, a vegetable spiraler you loved. I, like you, love my veggies and would love to try raw veggies with doing different way. Let me know what you recommend for vegetable spiraler.

    Best,
    Cynde
