What happens when beets meet pizza? Beet-za!!!! Yes… that’s right… you heard me, beet-za. That is the official name of my new creation. And if you or someone you know suffers from a hatred of beets, you need to try this. It is the official cure. And guess what? This pizza may even be better than my apple, bacon, and blue cheese pizza. (maybe)
Here is what you will need:
Olive oil
Pizza dough
4 medium sized beets cut in half
1/2 cup goat cheese (roughly), maybe a cup? I added a lot as I went
1/3 cup parmesan cheese (roughly)
kale (I used curly kale)
Salt and Pepper to taste
First thing is first. I steamed my beets for about 20 minutes. Just steam them until you can stick a fork in them easily.
Then strain your beets and put them in a food processor with some olive oil and goat cheese. I probably put about 1/4 a cup of goat cheese in the food processor with the other ingredients.
Yes!
When your pizza sauce is done (aka, the beet sauce) get your pizza dough ready. If you are like me and Taylor and buy your dough at the market or local pizza shop, don’t worry this will still be good! And in my case better because I can’t bake!
First spread your beet sauce over the dough. Then add some goat cheese crumbles.
Looks amazing!!!
Then add your kale ( I tore my kale off the stem in bite size pieces)
And top it with some parmesan cheese, a drizzle of olive oil, and salt and pepper. Bake in a 425 degree oven for 10-12 minutes. Serve hot!
Amazing
Make this tonight!
PRETTY!
You should be getting a kick back from the Beet Board, should one exist. You really have helped to sell people on how creative you can be with them. Oh, and you should be the PREZ of the Butternut Squash Board. Just sayin…
I wish there was a beet board! I need a raise! Honestly, I didn’t like beets until this year. They are awesome. On pizza is the way to go! Try this one. Pretty darn tasty!
